Bradmill Pty. Ltd. was acquired by the De Lutis Group in
April 2002. In the past few years the company has evolved
to offer a greater value product range, and to manage all
your supply chain requirements for fashion garment packages.
Focus also continues on the development of new fabrics utilising
the resources from our rich history in the manufacture of
workwear and denim fabrics.
It all started in 1927 with the opening of the mill (at
that time Bradford Cotton Mills) in Yarraville, primarily
producing workwear fabrics. In 1945 the range expanded to
include denim, and then in 1962 the first indigo dyed denim
was produced. With new technology and a changing focus to
the fashion market in 1982 stretch denim was introduced.
A major plant upgrade occurred in 1980 with the installation
of highly specialized equipment for producing the latest
fashion denim.
In late 1993, Bradmill Textiles became part of the Bradmill
Undare Group, an Australian owned company. At that time
Bradmill Textiles was the largest vertically integrated
exporter of cotton textiles in Australia.
In
2002 the De Lutis Group set up Bradmill Pty. Ltd. to continue
the Bradmill name and the company remains 100 % Australian
owned.
